A very warm HELLO! Feel free to look around but please, pardon our dust. We are still in the process of creating this site for you.
My name is Michelle Moreno-Apolo. Pull up a chair and let’s talk.
Does the thought of budgeting give you the hibbie jibbies?
Do you love the idea of budgeting and directing your money to where it’s supposed to go but can never commit or stick to it?
Do you feel that having a budget restricts you to what you can do with your own money?
Do you feel overwhelmed and frustrated with seemingly insurmountable debt that you feel like you’re just spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere?
Do you feel that there is more to life than just getting by?
Do you want to understand how money works but can’t seem to wrap your head around it?
Were you raised as a devout Christian but because of the many demands of life, kinda lost your way?
Friend to friend, don’t fret. I think I can help you.
Let me introduce myself. Don’t worry, I’ll keep it simple with these 10 facts about me…
1. Like me, you are the son or daughter of a Great Big God, a KING actually, so I wear my crown with pride. You should too.
2. God has been a consistent part of my life.
3. I don’t drink coffee because it triggers my migraine. I’m a tea drinker instead.
4. I was raised by practically a single mom who worked day and night as a seamstress to make ends meet in a third world country, the Philippines. Everyday was a struggle to figure out whether we would have something to eat. Our saving grace though, was that my mom was financially savvy. She will give those financial gurus a run for their money because she can extend a peso around the block a few times like nobody’s business.
5. I was taught how to budget since I was 7 years old, sitting in the dining room table with my mom poring over our measly fortune and looking for ways to make it last a month.
6. I came to America with only $120 in my pocket, and a heart filled with hope and dreams. My 1st paycheck wouldn’t be until 2 weeks later.
7. Despite being broke throughout my childhood, I was educated in Catholic schools from Kindergarten all the way to college. It helps that my mom is a devout Catholic who has a very close relationship with God.
8. Our family history changed through saving, investing, and being intentional about money. Yours can, too.
9. We are a family of 8, – myself, my husband, our 3 boys (2 years apart), 2 fur babies (a french and an english bulldog), and a chameleon. Yes, we consider our pets family too.
10. I learned 2 very valuable lessons from my mom that has tremendously helped make a HUGE difference in my life – FAITH in God and managing MONEY. I’m going to share these lessons here because I know they will help y’all too.
Let’s get this party started.
What I do
On my free time
Aside from writing and keeping a journal, I love spending my spare time (I have spare time?!) reading, practicing calligraphy, coloring adult coloring books, fiddling with my Cricut Joy, and just about anything crafty.
My loves
I am a mom of 3 boys, a french bulldog named Faith, an english bulldog named Hope who crossed the rainbow bridge in Nov. 2020 so we got another english bulldog whom we named Magnus, and a veiled chameleon named Zilla (short for Godzilla). I have been married to my husband for 18 years now and counting.
Betcha didn’t know
I am not by any means athletic. In fact, I suck at any sport. I am a homebody and an introvert. My perfect day would be to stay home, have a nice cuppa tea under a blanket with a good book to read. Or write on my journal. Or do anything crafty. Or color. Or work on this blog.
